No Limit Boxing can confirm that Michael Zerafa has officially pulled out of his highly anticipated grudge match against Tim Tzi.
“We knew from the moment he looked Tim in the eye at the press conference and fell silent that he never wanted this fight,” said George Rose, CEO of No Limit Boxing.
“I knew. Tim knew it. Australia knew it.
“He never wanted this fight and all I can say is that I feel sorry for all those who have wanted this fight for so long.”
No Limit Boxing confirmed that Australian boxing most likely, Steve Spark, has agreed to take the fight on a week’s notice.
Spark (12–1; 11 KO) won the number one ranking Australian welterweight in a statement performance against former Tim Tziu rival Jack Brubaker.
“We said rain or shine, Tim Tzieu was fighting in Newcastle on 7 July and that’s exactly what’s going to happen.
“Full credit to Steve Spark for taking this fight down in a short amount of time.
“We know he’s going to make it an incredibly difficult fight for Tim.”
Tim Tzu thanked Spark for taking the fight at short notice and knew it was a dangerous fight.
“Credit to Steve for taking this fight,” Tszyu said.
“He is a dangerous fighter with great strength.
“I’ve seen it for myself. I was ringside in a fight in Wollongong when he hammered Jack Brubaker, and saw how well he did under bright lights.
“He has strength, stamina and keeps up the pressure. I know he’s coming to hit and hit.
“I’m looking forward to a lot more next Wednesday night. It’s going to be a big fight.”
Stevie Spark was delighted to step on the plate.
“I’m a fighter and fighters fight!
“I love challenges and life is about taking risks. Without risk there is no reward!
I’m excited! I have earned this fight from my past performance. Tim Tzi beat Jack Brubaker but last time I beat Jack Brubaker. I bit him and ripped off his eardrum – it was cruel.
Australian boxing fans need to see this fight!
I’ve dreamed of fighting Tim Tzi and obviously it came a little sooner than I expected but it’s a good thing. I am fit and I am ready and I am coming to Newcastle to win.
“This is Cinderella Man, this is Rocky! This is my Golden Ticket.”
“If I can go out there and take down the biggest name in Australian boxing then I’m where I want to be.”
