New UFC member Alice Reed is ready to meet Sijara Eubanks in her promotional debut. Reed flyubod (125 pounds), who usually competes in the straw weight (115 pounds), climbs into the ring against the Eubanks.
Ahead of his UFC debut, Sportskeed representative John Hyun Ko followed Alice Reed. We talked to him about his military history, his future battle, and more.
Alice Reed’s military background can help her as a rival in martial arts
JHK emphasizes that the key aspect of Alice Reed is her military background and the discipline needed to be in the military. Reed explained how this becomes a fighting mentality:
“The military is one thing,” he said. I went to military college, I say, it was a whole; I mean, it’s like it’s on steroids because you do it 24/7. And you’re doing things you don’t want to do. And you’re confusing academics with athletics. And I think I knew very well how to feel uncomfortable and work in a place that wasn’t happy at all. I mean, I know my college experience was drastically different from everyone else’s. I can’t say I’ve been involved often. But in a sense, it’s like you have to be very dedicated and adapt to what you’re doing. “
“I think the military has had very good and bad days because I’ve been deployed for nine months to do this job. You know, it just keeps it (the mind) strong.”
Also, when asked where he was stationed as a soldier, Alice Reed said:
“So, first of all, Kuwait. We did a little bit of work in Iraq as well, but it was a huge task and logistics. It was a good time. I mean, I learned a lot. It was a no-brainer – I own a martial arts school and I can’t afford these opportunities anymore. But again, I worked with a lot of mental stuff. So that was good. ”
JHK recalled the U.S. military program and asked Alice Reed to be a part of it. Reed replied:
“You know, what’s funny, I’ve never done that … And the thing is, every time I sit in the unit, they say, ‘We have to get you to the wrestlers.’ We need to certify you. “We liked the dating course before we went. And I sit in the back, and I don’t like it. I’m not a showman, so I don’t want to say anything. But he said,” Which position is the top position? ? “He was asking questions like,” Like the back set. “He said,” What’s the other one? “And I just kept raising my hands … You know, I did a little bit of that. But I’m not certified at all. I’m sure. , eventually the army will give me a certificate, but, yes, I just didn’t make it. “
“It’s funny because I taught, but I can’t certify anyone because I’m not certified. So, like, “Yeah, you’re learning from a very good person”. I mean, the army won’t bless me, but I’m fine. ” (* Video compliment: Sportskeeda MMA representative John Hyun Co; H / T Sportskeeda for transcription)
JHK then speculated that being a UFC fighter would help boost Alice Reed’s confidence as a knowledgeable martial artist. Reed agreed with the idea and smiled.
Alice Reed will make her UFC debut at UFC Vegas 32
Alice Reed expressed her excitement ahead of her debut in the UFC and suggested that she feel better before her first fight in the world-famous MMA organization. The 28-year-old American mixed martial arts fighter made his amateur debut in MMA in 2016 and became a professional in 2019.
Alice Reed broke the undefeated professional MMA record with a score of 4: 0. Despite participating in UMA very early in his professional MMA career, Reed is confident.
Alice Reed discussed her impending rival Sijara Eubanks (125 pounds) falling from a one-pound weight class (135 pounds). Reed is rising to a straw weight (115 pounds) to fly (125 pounds) for this fight. Whatever it is, Reed believes he has what it takes to raise his hand against a UFC fighter like Eubanks.
Alice Reed points out that she remembers watching Sijara Eubanks ’past fights, with Eubanks hitting hard and finishing off her opponents. Still, Alice Reed aimed to stay true to her game plan and not get too caught up in what her opponent would do.
Reed said he never thought he would fight the Eubanks, especially since they competed in different weight classes.
Another important factor in this encounter could be Sijara Eubanks ’past weight loss. Elise Reed feels that the Eubanks are coming in as the biggest fighter, and that even if she weighs in, she feels tired against Reed.
Alice Reed points out that given how she fought this fight a few weeks ago, she didn’t have much time to prepare. However, Reed wants to have a good game plan to beat his Eubanks on fight night.
Alice Reed also noted that she has been poor in many of her fights, but will win regardless. Reed added that he has done crazy things in his MMA career, including encountering fighters who have a huge advantage over him.
That is, Alice Reed is confident of beating and defeating her opponent. Reed said he wants to beat the Eubanks in three weight classes and then compete in the welterweight division.
Alice Reed said her experience fighting in the Cage Fury Fighting Championships will help her in her UFC career. Reed plans to fight Sijara Eubanks in the UFC on July 24, 2021 at ESPN-27. The card is titled with a two-weighted clash between TJ Dillashaw and Cory Sandhagen.
