UFC 264 has completed a trilogy between Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirie. Even in a round where McGregor had to be the strongest, it was still a one-sided affair, where Pirie had won both on his feet and on the ground.
Conor McGregor and Dana White immediately discussed the fourth fight. Chael Sonnen criticized the idea, as it is technically over due to injury, which does not mean we should see it again for the fourth time.
“We start with a surprising legend that there should be a fourth battle. Do you understand the disrespect you show to Dustin Poirier? He asked. Sonnen said this on his YouTube channel.
“For anyone of you who thinks this fight requires another fight, we can do it for money, we can do it for attention and cash. We can do this for many things, but the competitiveness and architecture of the sport is not one of them. It was a bitch. It was a hit like a few people I’ve seen. And remember … two of the three licensed judges who rose to the main event for each paid view had 10-8. Do you know what 10-8 means? He asked.
McGregor also released photos claiming he broke the stress before the fight, which recently led to a break. What these two doctors suspect is an excellent MRI of the ankle that is not related to a fracture of his ankle, but nonetheless, it is being used as a reason to discredit Poirier’s victory.
“It’s already been rewritten and it just amazes me,” Sonnen said.
“If you whip your ass so hard that if you’re broken, it won’t give you back the answer.”
Sonnen had the same opinion when he discussed the debate on ESPN.
“In five minutes, we didn’t see anything competitive,” Sonnen said (via transcript.) MMA Fighting). “You could have trusted Conor McGregor before, and by the way, I don’t kick the guy when he falls, I just discuss what I saw. You stood up and trusted Conor to win [he was a] it’s really hard to get a guy down and if he’s there, you can never hold him. These are things you can trust.
“He’s not winning any of these battles, and I don’t want to put it down, but I want to tell you that you don’t need at least a competitive architecture, there’s nothing to guarantee you see them. the guys do it again. ”
