Smith made it very clear in the post-SmackDown video that he is back at WWE. It is unknown at this time how he will be booked on TV, but he is back. According to PW Insider, The son of a British Bulldog, actually signed a new contract with WWE, probably in March.

Smith was already signed last March, but he and WWE remained silent until it was time to officially return to the company to sign.

He’s not back on TV yet, so Smith could be on RAW or SmackDown. It is unknown how WWE will use his honorary experience, but he has traveled around the world for a long time since WWE and now he is back in the WWE Universe to showcase what he has learned.
