Steelers midfielder Ben Roethlisberger is swimming optimistically ahead of Sunday’s game against the Chiefs.

“We are 20 points behind and we are going to the first team, I know they are not in the first place, but they have won the AFC in the last two years, we can say that the best team in football… no chance” said Rothlisberger Wednesday “So let’s go inside and enjoy.”

In the opening round, which will take place at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City on Sunday, the Chiefs are the nearly 13-point favorite.

Although Quartbeck did not discuss being an outsider team next season, Roethlisberger told reporters: “I think you understand that as a group we shouldn’t be here. We’re not a very good football team.

“We are 14th out of 14 teams participating. We are a two-digit outsider in the playoffs. Let’s play, have fun and see what happens. “

Roethlisberger knows what it feels like to be an outsider in the post-season. He was part of the 2005 Stillers team, winning the Super Cup under number six.

Asked if the post-season race was similar to Pittsburgh’s 2005 race, Roethlisberger said: “It was a really good football team. We are not as good a football team as we were then. ”

His words, whether cinematic or not, did not describe his self-confidence just days before the game. Roethlisberger, meanwhile, made no mistake as the Steelers face a tough fight ahead.

The Chiefs have won nine of their last 10 games and are playing in the Super Cup in a row. The teams will meet for the second time on Sunday, and Kansas City beat Pittsburgh 36-10 on Dec. 26.

Patrick Mahomes is celebrating with the Chiefs teammates

“I hope we don’t go over 20-30 points,” Rothlisberger said. “We’ll just go inside and hope to keep it close.”

According to the veteran defender, he spoke to some of Pittsburgh’s “youngsters” to explain that “every mistake has grown” after the season.

“I’ve been in a lot of games where the team with the fewest mistakes wins,” he said. You just try and tell those kids, listen, we should go there and you should be free and enjoy, play football, but understand that it will be a little faster and the intensity will increase.

The two-time Super Bowl champion is now in the postseason as a Steelers defender in 12 of his 18 seasons. He noted that this year’s campaign could be his last.

Pittsburgh secured a playoff berth after a dramatic victory over the Ravens on Sunday – and the Raiders ’extra-time dramatic victory ensured they advanced to the next round of the season.
