Stella Mozgava and Boom Bip have launched their new side project “Belief” and shared their debut single “I Want To Be”.
Mozgava, drummer Warpaint as well as a producer who has partnered with Los Angeles-based producer Boom Bip (Bryan Hollon) for a project he has been working on since 2016.
Stereoboard The couple reportedly met more than 10 years ago when Mozgava first moved from Australia to Los Angeles and they became attached to the techno out of mutual love.
In 2013, Hollon asked Mozgava to play the drums on a tour Neon neon project. Then in 2016, the duo went to Eric Wareheim’s Absolutely Studios with all their equipment: “What would Mark Bell do?”.
A few hours of material have been improvised and for the past five years the couple has been developing their voice. They tried out some of their work on small live shows under the pseudonym Beef.
“I Want to Be” is the first edition of Belief. Watch the Glashier-directed music video filmed in Berlin above.
The couple said of the song: “We chose I Want To Be as the first single because it has a hymn-based synthesis. It seemed to open. The simple message, “I want to be,” immediately engulfed us, as it can be applied to almost anyone’s situation or situation to move forward.
Meanwhile, Warpaint is set to tour the UK and Europe in May for the first time in five years. They made fun of the rest of 2016.Heads up‘and released a song last year’Lilysshown in HBO series Created for love.
Boom Bip’s last album was the 2016 Sun Choke.
