Conor McGregor did a lot of work to inspire himself before the trilogy fight with Dustin Poiri. These included threatening statements and threats against his opponent, which continued and intensified after McGregor’s second hard-fought U.S. defeat.
McGregor’s exaggerated rubbish speech, which included deadly threats, turned out to be Notorious’s attempt to elevate his ego and convince him that he could win. However, as we saw on Saturday, these attempts did not yield results.
Another thing McGregor did to pump himself up was to turn an ignorant guard into a fist bag. Watch the video below to see McGregor punch a man who is simply motionless in a cage. At one point, McGregor missed the high blow from there. Surprisingly, the guard doesn’t stumble upon anything.
McGregor helped Poirier get the same Irishman out of the arena, as did his leg, which appeared after Pirie’s 10-8 rounds in which he was defeated by TKO.
This is not the first time McGregor has interacted with an official in and around the cage. In 2017, at Bellator 187, after his friend Charlie Ward defeated John Redmond, McGregor stormed the cage to celebrate the holiday and injure sensational referee John Goddard.
