The match between 9th-ranked Islam Makhachev and 14th-ranked Tiago Moises in the main event of UFC Vegas 31 ended the fourth round with a compliment from the Dagestani contender.
The fight began with both men trading by kicking their feet. Maxachev focused mainly on putting pressure on Moises as he held him close to the cage for a few minutes. Moises started a lot of fights, pushing Makhachev into a cage in the clinic before he went downstairs to ensure removal. However, Makhachev did not stay on the ground for long and quickly changed his position to gain top management.
It was a similar strategy during the second and third rounds, but Mozes seemed to slow down as the minutes went by. Maxachev continued to hold the pressure, which eventually led to a bare suffocation in the back that fell on Moises in the fourth round.
Watch Tim Burke’s playoff play in the fourth round of Islam Maxachev and Tiago Moises:
Moises straight right. The inner foot kick is also low. Makhachev’s header was blocked. He throws Moyze to bed. Moises immediately searches for the triangle, but there is nothing there. The head of the turf is against the cage, while Makhachev continues to strike. Stiff elbow. Mozes pushed and tried to walk away, but gave up from behind. The second round is the same place as the tortoise mode. Strikes from Makhachev. He can’t sink the second hook, so he attacks his neck anyway. Woe is me. Moises taps!
