Last year, UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou saw Derrick Lewis win the title when Cyril Gaine won a temporary UFC heavyweight belt. The interim championship fight took place after Ngannou campaigned for a blockbuster fight with John Jones, which the UFC refused to put on the green (due to salary demands from both men).

Ngannou will face Gane in a championship fight at UFC 270 next weekend. There is a lot of history between them. They trained together at an MMA factory in Paris. Ngannou broke away from that outfit and has since picked out some words for former coach Fernand Lopez. Lopez, who turns Gane around the corner, also talked a lot about Ngannou.

Although there were a lot of dramatic events around this game, Ngannou was asked some technical questions about the fight. Soon, with TMZ Sports, Ngannou discussed how he saw the debate going (and ending).

It can be said that he is very confident in his ability to stop Gane undefeated.

“I’m not looking for a knockout, but I don’t understand how we can end this fight under two rounds without knocking it out,” he said (ht. athlete). “Because he’s not as tough as Stipe [Miocic]. I know the guy very well, you know. He can’t eat pressure like Stipe. So as soon as we like a close exchange, I don’t think there will be any chance to get out of there.

Ngannou won the championship a year ago by knocking out Miochich. Two years after Miochich handed Ngannou his first defeat in the UFC, he defeated the former champion. In the first match, Miocic defeated the “Wild” to win unanimously.

After the Miocic defeat, Ngannou made another uninspiring decision, this time to Derrick Lewis. Since then, however, he has knocked out every opponent he encountered.

Gane joined the UFC in 2019 and has been perfect in seven games. Jairzinho defeated Rosenstruik, Alexander Volkov and Lewis to meet Ngannou last year.
