While the Trump Organization is being accused of being a business in this case, Trump himself is not being personally accused. If found guilty, the company will face possible fines and other sanctions in that case.

Shortly after Weiselberg surrendered, the Trump organization blew up Manhattan’s DA Cyrus Vance Jr.

A company spokesman said in a statement: “Allen Weiselberg is a loving and loyal husband, father and grandfather who has worked for the Trump Organization for 48 years.”

“It is now being used by the Manhattan District Attorney as a pawn in a burnt ground attempt to harm the former president,” the spokesman said.

“Neither the IRS nor any other district attorney has filed a criminal case involving benefits for workers who never thought to bring it. It’s not fair; it’s politics.”

Vance’s office has been conducting criminal investigations into the Trump Organization on various issues for several years.

These include Trump’s former personal attorney Michael Cohen paying porn star Stormy Daniels, how Cohen’s claims about the value of real estate assets being misappropriated by the firm for financial gain; Organization questions. paid taxes on benefits such as apartments and cars used by employees.

Trump, a Republican, has for years called Vance’s request a witch hunt for political reasons. Both Vance and James are Democrats.

The charges against Weiselberg and the Trump Organization are not expected to end the investigation against the company and the former president.

Both Cohen and Weiselberg’s ex-fiancée, Jennifer Weisselberg, cooperated with the criminal investigation.
