AEW strives to be an alternative to the product that WWE has been putting out over decades. AEW has improved leaps and bounds in key aspects, but not everything is as well as it should be. Tony Khan defended AEW’s use of blood in the face of critics who aren’t fans of their blood and guts approach.

One of the biggest differences between WWE and AEW is that AEW has a lot of violent content, which usually involves a lot of blood. The company has recieved criticism for the same. This includes matches such as Britt Baker vs. Thunder Rosa, TayJay vs. the Bunny and Penelope Ford, and the Kenny Omega Jon Moxley matches, all of which saw competitors bleed buckets.

While speaking to News 12 Long IslandAEW President Tony Khan talked about AEW using violence and he defended it, stating that violent matches are generally praised a lot.

“It’s certainly not every week, you don’t see it on a weekly basis… For the most part, you see a focus on the in-ring action, but every once and awhile, when things have gotten out of hand, it’s been old school pro wrestling in a way that has been very healthy and has been well-received by our media partners and fans. ”

Bloody matches in AEW are here to stay and for the most part, it has turned out for the better in the company. AEW has a lot of things planned for the future and fans are excited to see what the company comes up with next.
