There is an internal belief in WWE that more employees need to be fired

WWE has a lot of people working for the company, but soon there will be fewer. The company has laid off a lot of employees over the past few months, with 60 employees laid off at the same time as they merged several departments into a single division headed by Kevin Dunn. He fired even more employees from WWE HQ today.

The company has also fired many superstars, which has reduced their bottom line costs drastically. Superstars like Braun Strowman and Lana had multi-million dollar contracts and now that money can go back to improve the company in the eyes of investors.

According to Andrew Zarian of Matt Maine Pro Wrestling, there is a perception within the company that more firing is needed. It was also expected that more terminations would continue in this new era in the company.

The WWE talent and staff shakeup is something I was told would be more common in this new era for the company.

When I pressed this person why their response was “To be honest, it’s needed…”

We will have to see who is released today when more names come to the fore. Some top executives have been fired in recent memory and now it looks like there may be more.

It’s a strange idea to let so many people go, especially with their return to live tours and a sense of “normalcy” again. The company will apparently be doing this with even fewer people on the payroll.

What’s your take on where WWE is headed in this “new era”? Sound off in the comments!
