New year, new album, new face?

It’s been almost two years since The Weeknd released their new album, and the wait for the singer seemed even longer.

The Weeknd, whose real name is Abel Tesfaye, released a teaser for their upcoming album Dawn FM on Monday, showing the 31-year-old looking much older.

In the one-minute clip, Tesfaye appears with clear special effects to age her face with wrinkles and gray hair.

The video for the album, which will be released on January 7, reads “The World of Sound from the Weeknd Mind.” The album includes collaborations with Quincy Jones, Lil Wayne, Oneohtrix Point Never and Tyler, the Creator. .

The teaser also mysteriously points out that Jim Carrey is also part of the album. While it is unknown how the actor will attend, Kerry, 59, told The Weeknd GQ that the couple came to his 30th birthday party and the couple became friends.

The Weeknd has shared a teaser for its upcoming album, in which it stands out in another visible way.

“On the day I turned 30, he amazed me,” she told the magazine. “He just pulled me into my cradle and took me to breakfast. He literally lived two buildings away from me. He had a telescope, and I had a telescope. He said, “Where do you live? Which floor do you live on? I was like this:Bla, bla, bla.“And we looked out the windows at our telescope and we could see each other.”

Elsewhere in the video, the singer appears to be wearing his usual smooth leather suit, but is being dragged away by mysterious masked figures.

“You’re listening to 103.5 Dawn FM right now,” a voice told The Weeknd as another man in a red cloak approached. “You have been in the dark for a very long time. It’s time to enter the light and embrace your destiny. ”

The Weeknd also featured a face we all know on the teaser.

“Music can heal and it seems more important than any other album release,” he wrote in an Instagram post last week. “Let’s leave everything behind and enjoy the people.”

The album is a sequel to After Hours, released in 2020, and includes some weird concepts, including the bloody look he often wears in public, as well as a mug that appears to have been altered by plastic surgery achieved through prosthetics. .

In August, the singer released the song “Take My Breath” – the first track since “After Hours” – which was removed from theaters due to eclipse concerns. He did this in collaboration with FKA Twigs (“Tears in the Club”), Swedish House Mafia (“Moth on Fire”), Rosalia (“La Fama”), Post Malone (“One Right Now”) and Ariana Grande. , Remixing the song “Save Your Tears.”
