A collection of rarities Lou Rid the demos were released during the holidays and then quickly removed from the copyright-related dump.
According to Diversity, RCA / Sony Music uploaded a 17-track album of Lou Reed’s demos to iTunes in Europe on December 23, entitled “I’m Very Free: 1971 RCA Demos.” It was then removed a few days later.
Matthew Goody, author Needles and Plastic: Flying Nun Records, 1981–1988, shared a preview of the album’s artwork last Thursday (December 30th), pointing to the album’s release on social media.
“Apparently, Lou Reed’s 1971 RCA demos were dropped on Apple Music in Europe on Christmas Eve,” he wrote on Twitter. “There’s no sign that they can’t be found anywhere else.”

The reason for the brief announcement seems to be that RCA / Sony Music has relinquished explicit copyright to expand the ownership of the recordings. Reed died on October 27, 2013, of liver disease.
asked RCA / Sony Music for comment.
In recent years, copyright expansion has become commonplace. Voice recordings are protected for 50 years after publication and can be extended for up to 70 years, provided they are “legally made available to the public” within the first 50 years.
In the past, some publishers, for example, have released record collections Beatles2013 Bootleg Recordings 1963 album. Others have probably limited themselves to what it means to publish their music without wanting to share early, unfinished versions of the songs with the world.
In 2013, A Bob Dilan literally a compilation was published under the title “Copyright Extension Package, Volume 1”. Sold only in Europe, only 100 released.
