A documentary about the life of the deceased Ronnie James Dio Almost two years later, it is scheduled to be released this year was first published.

The release of the still-unnamed project was confirmed in an interview with Wendy Dio TV, the widow of the late heavy metal singer. Lucas X. Gordon show On YouTube (as reported Blabbermouth.net). In the interview, Ms. Dio said she saw the “first part” of the documentary and described it as “very emotional”.

Ms. Dio confirmed that she spoke with several well-known musicians as part of the documentary, among them Judas is a priest singer Rob Helford, Solid D frontmen and actor Jack Black, The Runaways guitarist Lita Ford and Dio’s Black Saturday teammate Geezer Butler.

Originally reported in February 2020, the documentary will work in collaboration with Don Argott and Demian Fenton. They have worked together on several films in the past, especially in 2005 Rock school.

The documentary also includes elements of Dion’s unfinished autobiography. Rainbow in the dark – Named after one of the sisters in the group Dio.

Before his death, the singer worked on a book with rock biographer Mick Wall. Both Wall and the Dio family helped complete the book, and eventually published it in 2021.
