Many believe that Sami Zayn is doing the best work of his career. Sami put on the performance of a lifetime against Jackass star Johnny Knoxville at WrestleMania 38. He firmly believes that his stock has risen with Vince McMahon over the past couple of years.
The former WWE Intercontinental Champion recently sat down with talkSPORT for an interview. Sami explained how his relationship with the boss has grown over the years and if he believes he’s added value to that.
“On a personal level of the relationship of Vince and I, I don’t know. But certainly I think my stock has gone up tremendously in his books in the past couple of years. And for sure, anytime you can carry something with an outside person it helps because to your point, he is invested in those. But I don’t know. It’s hard to get a read on that man, it really is [laughs].
“But he’s been very kind. I remember when I was doing the stuff with Brock [Lesnar]I actually did something with him [Vince] on screen as well.
“And I was thrilled to hear he was talking about it both to me and people in some meeting about how much he enjoyed it, being on-screen with me and the chemistry that we had. I took that as such a huge compliment.
“Maybe I shouldn’t even be saying this [laughs]. I think he values me, he appreciates me and I feel good about that. I just feel very good aund bout everything, I really do. ”
Most recently, Sami squared off against Riddle on SmackDown. The former NXT Champion is attempting to land in the good books of Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns. We’ll have to wait and see if Sami succeeds in his quest.
