Previous Cocteau twins guitarist Robin Gutri has released a new RaI called “Spring Time,” which consists of four instrumental tracks.

The EP was released yesterday (January 4) by Soleil Après Minuit as the first edition of the year, on the occasion of its 60th anniversary.

“Spring” will be a productive year in 2021 for the musician, who released two four-track EPs with “Riviera” in December and “Malaysirab sevgi” in October.

In November, Guthrie released her sixth full-length album, Pearldriving, which was her first album since Fortune 2012, which was also instrumental.

The new ES sees Guthrie experimenting with fantasy guitar textures as part of a comprehensive full group arrangement.

Listen to “Spring” below.

in an interview with The world of the guitar, Guthrie found that the death of her friend and frequent colleague Harold Budd prompted her to rebuild her studio and work on new music.

“When Harold died. It made me think, ‘Heaven, I’m going to be 60 soon and I have music that hasn’t been put on yet.’ I have to keep doing that, ”he said.

“So earlier this year, I completely rebuilt my studio. I got rid of my mix table, changed a lot of boards, changed working guitars, changed some programs. I’ve changed almost everything in my signal path, but it’s still like me! ”

Guthrie’s former Cocteau Twins bandmate Elizabeth Fraser also appeared last year with new music. Fraser collaborated with the producer The oneohtrix point is never while reworking the track on his 2020 album Magic Oneohtrix Point Never, “Fairy tales from the garbage layer”.
