River Plate will welcome Colon at the Estadio Monumental on Sunday for the first league match of the new season of the Argentine Primera Division.
In the first match of the 16th round of the Copa del Rey, the Libertadores on Thursday, the hosts came into the game with a 1-1 draw with the friendly Argentine juniors. Matias Suarez and Gabriel Juache scored in the first half and left everything to play in the return match.
Colon has not moved since winning a 3-0 victory over Racing Club in the second round of the Copa de la Liga Professional in early June.
River Plate is aiming for second place in the league last season. Colon finished the campaign in 23rd place, but avoided a decline as the league decided to end the season ahead of schedule due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

River Plate and Colon Prophecy
There are a number of players who have played in the newly completed Copa America at River Plate, and this, along with their continental moves, can cause fatigue in players.
The hosts could also take a look at next week’s Libertadores rematch. Still, the Gallardo team has to work hard enough to get a small win.
Prediction: River Plate 1-0 column
