Rebel Wilson will soon return to his element – hosting the 2022 BAFTA.
The 41-year-old comedian shared the news on social media on Friday and talked about what viewers can expect when hosting the British Awards show.
Since he lost weight, he joked that it would no longer be so funny and that former James Bond himself would be with Daniel Craig.
“I am very honored to host the EE British Academy Film Awards in March, where Covid will no longer be available as it has been canceled until then. It will be so much fun! He wrote.
“I don’t want to put any pressure on it – I know, I’m not kidding because I’m not fat anymore,” the Pitch Perfect star added. “Also, I don’t ‘sweat’ with nerves because I have a specific disease because I can’t sweat … or I can’t upset people because of my cute Australian accent.”
Wilson continued, “So I’m just going to be there to talk to Dame Judy Dench and try to get in touch with Daniel Craig together. Yes, I mean “connection”.
The show will be the anniversary of major British movie franchises, such as GARRY POTTER, not CATS. Everyone likes it, I’m sure! See you on March 13! ” he concluded.
Celebrating the best of the year in British and international films, BAFTAs will be screened on March 13 from Royal Albert Hall in London on BBC One and the BBC’s iPlayer program. Prince William is the president of the association, which he took over in 2010 from Sir Richard Attenborough.
BAFTA Executive Director Amanda Berry said in a statement: “We are delighted to welcome Rebel Wilson as the host of this year’s EE British Academy Film Awards. Rebel has stolen the show at several previous Film Awards and we are thrilled to see that he brought his amazing charisma and humor to the entire show while celebrating the best in the film.
Wilson previously competed in the 2016 and 2020 BAFTA competitions. He stole the show twice with his disgruntled jokes.
He mocked Idris Elba’s charm in 2016 and the racist controversy surrounding the Oscars at the time. In 2020, the Australian actress saw a joke about COVID-19 masks and her devastating movie “Cats”.
