Calisto Ray said he wanted to clash with Mysterio in the Mask and Mask game shortly before the WWE released him in April.
The former WWE Superstar, now known as Samurai del Sol, has received good feedback on the idea from Mysterios and Paul Heyman. However, he was unable to report the incident to WWE President Vince McMahon.
Speaking on Chris Van Vliet’s Insight podcast, Calisto admitted he was sorry he didn’t tell McMahon about the idea of Mask and Mask. He also revealed how Heyman reacted when he told his former RAW Executive Director about his game offer.
“My biggest regret is not giving Vince my idea,” Calisto said. “The whole world except Vince knew. [I wanted to do] A masked and masked game against Ray Mysterio. I had Ray’s prayer, Dominic’s prayer, everyone. They all loved it. I showed it to Paul Heyman as well. Paul said, “This is genius, do this.” Let me do it! It’s just a good story, and my biggest regret is that I didn’t talk to Vince about it. Before I left, I was free. “
