As we approach the 2021-22 edition of the Premier League, I believe it could be one of the toughest in recent memory. Manchester City, Manchester United, Liverpool and Chelsea could all earn the title – it’s a four-way battle for the APL crown and I don’t expect any of them to escape with a two-point lead.
I think Chelsea need a forward. I don’t know what contract Erling Haaland has, but they need someone who can score 20 goals in one APL season. Timo Werner is a different kind of player – he is a willing runner who works very hard and is very dedicated on the team. However, he doesn’t blow me away as a man who can score 20 goals a season, so it will be interesting to see what happens there.
Manchester United have already signed Jadon Sancho, but they could have worked with another midfielder. Whatever happens in the transfer market, as I said before, I expect the Premier League championship race to be very close.
Another important thing to keep in mind is that the big players are back on their side after international commitments. This summer, many Premier League stars represented their countries at Euro 2020 and the Copa America, so they could have missed a few games at the start of the new season.
There are still early doors and a lot can change from now until the start of the season, but here are some bold predictions that promise to be an exciting Premier League campaign.
