Apple’s newest smartwatch, the Apple Watch Series 7, will be available in stores on Friday with a large display and several exclusive new watches.
The iPhone maker and technology giant introduced its latest watch along with the iPhone 13 last month and has been shipping units to buyers who can pre-order from October 8th. The 7 Series starts at $ 399 and $ 429 for the 41mm model. For the 45 mm model.
The displays on Apple’s newest watches have 20% more space and are 40% thinner than the previous model. Series 6. For those looking for just the basics, a slightly larger display is all about making the picture and text clearer. Whether these improvements will be enough to make the 7 Series smartwatch just what you need depends on your needs.

What’s new on the Apple Watch?
The new Retina display on the Apple Watch Series 7 is a major update this time around. The border of the display is 40% thinner than the 6-series, which allows your watch or app to cover this area. Apple’s display is also 70% brighter than the previous model, making it easier to read.
With a larger display, I’ve found that the password function is easier to press precisely on slightly larger buttons. While at the gym and walking, I made it easy to read a variety of information: calories, heart rate, distance.
Some new watches take advantage of this extra real estate: a one-time ma that includes other readings such as a Modular Duo face, time and temperature, weather forecast, market trends, your movement and heart rate ‘data center; and the contour face, as the numbers are pushed to the edge of the display – grows as the corresponding clock approaches.
In addition to these two 7-series exclusive watches, there is a new face of World Time for all watches that work with watchOS, showing 24-hour zones and other information that you can customize.
The last hours are even tougher, Apple says, with the front crystal being 50% thicker to better resist peaks and being the first to be certified with the highest level of dust resistance. The watch is also waterproof up to 50 meters.
The new model comes with a fast-charging USB-C cable, which charges the 7-series watch 33% faster than the previous model. The 7 Series runs on an all-day battery that can charge for 18 hours. If you want to wear a watch while you sleep, you can charge it for eight minutes before going to bed all night.
If you choose an aluminum body, you can choose from five new colors – midnight, starlight, green, blue and red. Other colors, including black, gold, graphite, silver, and titanium, can be more expensive than stainless steel (up to $ 699) and titanium (up to $ 799).
What else can the Apple Watch Series 7 do?
The sensors – just like in the Apple Watch Series 6 – monitor heart rate and the amount of oxygen in the blood, as well as receive an electrocardiogram that measures heart activity and shows if the heart rhythm can be low, high, or irregular. I wonder if you get enough sleep? The clock keeps track of this, along with other measurements, while you sleep.
Now you can use the full keyboard on your Apple Watch. Even though my fingers were wrapped, I could press letters to scroll across the keyboard or use QuickPath – that’s pretty obvious, but I didn’t want to communicate much. There is also a new Script Screen to draw letters on your text.
The watch can also detect if you have fallen using a built-in accelerometer and gyroscope (fall detection is automatically turned on in users over 55). If you fall, the clock allows you to click once to call an ambulance. If you fall and do not move for 60 seconds, an emergency call will be made automatically and your emergency contacts will be notified.
With the release of Watch OS 8 (available in Apple Watch Series 3 and later versions) last month, the detection of cyclists and exercise crashes has also been added.
Do you need a new Series 7 Watch?
Until recently, as someone who hAcesparks’t worn a watch in decades, I was introduced to smart watches. You don’t have to pull your phone to see the time or read the text to make a call, like the 7-series on your wrist. And the Apple Watch is so lightweight – less than 1.5 ounces less than the 45mm aluminum body model – you can almost forget it has it.
If fitness is a big part of your life, smart watches can also help you keep track of your heart rate, distances and workout time. And Apple continues to develop a Fitness + service that includes its own activities (with the purchase of any new Apple Watch Series 3 or higher, you get a three-month free subscription; then $ 9.99 per month).
If your family members are at risk of falling, a watch may be a good option. A mobile subscriber can make built-in emergency calls to the Apple Watch — or next to the iPhone owner, or for Wi-Fi calls.
However, if you’ve owned an Apple Watch released in the last four years and are happy with it – there’s no pressure to upgrade right now. But, if a new, larger display catches your interest, consider this.
Smart watches make up more of an Apple pie
Apple Watch’s revenue from the clothing, home and accessories category increased by 30% over the past nine months (ending June 27, 2021) to $ 29.6 billion, iPhone sales (from 37% to $ 153.1 billion) and services. left behind. (Up 27.8% to $ 50.1 billion).
Apple has a market share of nearly 53% of the global smartwatch market and sold 46% more (9.5 million) units in the second quarter of 2021 than in the same period last year, Samsung 11% and Garmin about 8%. Strategy analysis.
Now the Apple Watch Series 7 may be the best-selling during the holidays, said Neil Mawston, executive director of global research for wireless communications at the research company. “The bigger screen, faster charging, more durable body, new body colors, and new health apps make the Apple Watch 7 a Christmas gift for many,” he said.
But, if you really want to, order as soon as possible, Mavston said. “Given the lack of components, power shortages, transportation difficulties, and the imagination of Covid’s unexpected options, the production of the Watch 7 and other models can sometimes be vague or inaccurate,” he said. “You may want to buy a new watch in the winter, but delivering it can sometimes be harder than you expect.”
