HOUSTON – The Nets fell to a lone star in Wednesday night’s game at Lone Star State.

Kevin Durant rested on the tail end of the ball against the Rockets. After starring Kairy Irving, James Harden clashed with the Rockets as the only member of the Nets’ Big 3 team.

Primary center LaMarcus Oldridge also sat down to rest on Wednesday.

“I told them [the media] I helped them a lot because I gave them some rest, so … ”Nets coach Steve Nash joked when asked why the two veterans were sitting down. we know there were minutes.

“I think they both wanted to play, but it was an opportunity to try to relax a bit during a difficult holiday. [Harris] puts more pressure on the guys in the lineup. We’re just taking the opportunity to roll the dice a bit here.

The team, which combined Durant, Harden and Aldridge with Patti Mills and DeAndre ‘Bembri, scored 16.0 points in the 81st minute on Wednesday.

Kevin Durant

Durant is running 36.2 minutes, more than three minutes above last season’s average. After playing both ends of the Nets ’first four back games, he sat down after playing 40:30 in Dallas on Tuesday.

Aldridge, meanwhile, started six games in a row, averaging 16.8 points and 6.6 rebounds in 29.8 minutes.

“I know people can worry about my minutes and I’ve been injured before and it’s an extra effort. But if I get there, we’ll find out, ”Durant said. “Now I want to play basketball.”

Harden, Mills, Bembri, James Johnson and Nick Claxton all featured in the Nets, and the lineup started together for the first time this season. It is also the start of a fifth career for Klaxton.

Claxton was a logical helper for Aldridge. The young center played for the most moves since returning from illness at 20:57 on Tuesday, including the fourth quarter. Klaxton finished with 6 points, nine rebounds, the team’s highest plus-9.

“Well, we have options like that,” Nash said. “Nic is a versatile, athletic, defensive and role-playing, LA top scorer and an experienced veteran who understands all the concepts on either side of the floor. It’s very valuable to us to have both.”

Klaxton’s appearance not only puts Harden at risk in attack, but also allows the Nets to move from 1 to 5 in defense and not lose the defense as they did with Aldridge.

“He gives us a layer that can guard multiple positions and gives us versatility and a guy who can guard the perimeter players there but still be able to defend your ring and rebound is a very good choice for us. So he improves us at that end of the floor, ”Nash said.

“We love his qualities and what he brings to the team and how he can impact teams with our changing defense, but overall in defense he has a different skill than anyone on the list.”
