Carrion Cross was one of NXT’s best superstars, which led him to become a two-time NXT champion. In comparison, however, his run in the RAW on Monday night was, at the very least, shallow. Mark Henry doesn’t seem to really like his tricks at WWE.
Carrion Cross made his new mask debut after losing the NXT Championship. From day one on the main list, he appeared without his bride, Scarlett. Cross also revealed who came up with the idea for his mask.
Cross’s mask was a subject of ridicule for many. The reason is that her new dress on the main list, according to many fans, made her feel like she was wearing a gimp suit. Even Carrion Cross hated the helmet.
Speaking during the episode Busted Open Radio, Mark Henry criticized WWE for giving Carrion Cross a gladiatorial trick. Henry added that he didn’t believe WWE had given him the trick.
“You look at the world of entertainment. Sometimes it is an art that imitates life, and sometimes it imitates art. When was the last time you saw a gladiator show? I will wait. There are a lot of zombie shows on TV. Many sports shows. Mortal Kombat-type heroes are superhero-like things. There are no Spartak-type shows on TV to tie Carrion Cross.
He basically takes what he hears overnight and in a week and tries to make it the mainstream in the wrestling world. It didn’t work. Everyone liked what he had in NXT before, and we loved it. We talked about him, how great their entry was, how great his finish was, he could take on so much punishment and do the job anyway. Did they show his endurance in a game with one of the people who once fought in Raw or SmackDown? No. Once he couldn’t stand the storm, he turned into a real donkey, and then made that return and made the crowd happy, here’s Carrion Cross. Not once. “
Carrion Cross was released as part of a recent WWE mass release that fired himself, Kate Lee and others. Carrion Cross has hinted at his next move since releasing WWE, so it remains to be seen where Cross will be next.
