Tears for fear They shared a new single called “Break The Man” – check it out below.
The song is the third taste of the band’s first album in 17 years, “Breakpoint”, which is due to come through Concord Records on February 25th. In October 2021, the duo of Roland Orzabal and Kurt Smith recorded the title track of the record, and last month, they released their second single, “No Small Thing.”
“Break The Man” pays homage to women fighting patriarchy. About the single Tears for Fears singer Kurt Smith said: “I think a lot of the problems we’re facing as a country and even around the world are due to male dominance.”
“This song is about a woman who is strong enough to break a man. For me, this would be the answer to many problems in the world – a better male-female balance.
“Donald Trump and also four years of living through the #MeToo movement led to this song,” he said. “I am happy to be in a family surrounded by strong women: my wife and daughters. Women have such calm wisdom that they don’t have in men because we are often so busy showing off how big our dicks are. We’ve seen it a lot in America with Trump: the idea of ”we’re real men” and the problems he’s caused. “
He continued, “This poisonous masculinity has aroused the hatred of wars and others – the idea that ‘I am stronger and I need people weaker than myself, and I will show them that they are weaker than me.’ it has become a notion that a woman’s role is at home. It’s nonsense and we can be guided by more compassion – a preferred woman. This song came from there. “
