Lil Nas X announced the release date of its debut studio album Montero.

The artist announced the news on Twitter today (August 26) that he will be coming on September 17th. He also shared a trailer that previews a song that hasn’t been released in the pop-rock direction yet.

In the clip, Lil Nas X appears as a yellow TV reporter, she is Lil Nas and Jack Harlow, prisoners “Industrial Child” music video, escaped.

Lil Nas is seen in a car with her muscles converting on a desert highway, still wearing a pink prison jacket. He stops at a payphone that takes it to another size until he shows the release date of the Montero.

“Creating this album was a therapy for me,” said Lil Nas X wrote. “I’ve learned to stop controlling people’s perceptions of who I am, what I can do, and where I am. I realized the only idea I had about myself.

Montero was first announced in June, a few months after its tracks came out. “Montero (call me by your name)”.

“I definitely want to be an actor, but I feel I have to give my all and I want to focus on music for now,” he said. “I want my first film to be great.”
