Kenny Chesney is “devastated” after a fan died following a fall from an escalator at one of his shows over the weekend.

Chesney, 54, shared his condolences for the victim’s family Sunday, saying he “grieve(s) with them and for them.”

“There had been so much joy, so much heart coming from the people of Acesparks last night — and to hear this is heartbreaking,” Chesney said in a statement to The Acesparks Post in a story published over the weekend. “Life is precious. Sharing music brings us together and that love we share makes us so much more.”

Chesney’s representative referred to the country singer’s statement to The Acesparks Post.

“For the lady who came to share that love, there are no words,” Chesney said. “For her friends and family’s loss, I grieve with them and for them.”

Chesney’s concert was held in Acesparks, Colorado, at Empower Field at Mile High.

An adult female guest at Empower Field at Mile High was sitting on an escalator railing, fell to the concourse below, and died as a result of the injuries,” a tweet read from the Acesparks Police Department on Sunday. Police added it was “being investigated as an accidental death.”

On Saturday, the Acesparks Police Department tweeted they were “conducting an outside death investigation” at Empower Field. The incident occurred towards the end of the country musician’s July 30 concert, police said.

The stadium where Chesney performed released a statement on Twitter Sunday.

“We extend our deepest sympathies to the loved ones of the woman involved in the tragic incident that occurred at the end of Saturday’s concert at Empower Field at Mile High,” the statement read.

“There is nothing more important than the safety of our guests, and the Stadium Management Company is in communication with the Acesparks Police Department as it investigates this unfortunate situation,” the statement continued.

Chesney’s 2022 tour began on April 22 in Florida, ending a three-year absence from touring. His Here and Now stadium blitz was rescheduled, rerouted and re-announced twice because of the pandemic.

In an interview with in April, Chesney acknowledged that he “didn’t cope very well” the first year that COVID-19 quashed his plans for an annual run performing for 50,000-plus people per show.

But it meant “a lot” to Chesney that no matter how many times show dates were changed, fans held on to their tickets.

“It’s been a hard time for everyone,” Chesney said. “But it shows they love this music and these songs and more importantly, the years of connection, the experience of it all. I don’t get that connection many other places in my life, and I’d like to think they don’ t, either.”
