Nassurdine Imamov’s two consecutive victories in the 2021 middleweight division led him to his biggest fight of his young career. According to MMA Fighting data, The 25-year-old Dagestani, will face former champion contender Kelvin Gastelum in the 185-pound weight class at UFC 273 on April 9.
Imamov (11-3, 3-1 UFC) defeated Edmen Shahbazyan by technical knockout in UFC 268 in November. His only defeat in the octagon was in the hands of Phil House in February last year.
Gastelum (16-8, 1 NC), 11-8, 1 NC UFC) has not had much luck in recent times, missing a total of five of the last six fights. Honestly, it was against a high level of competition. He threw five-round decisions to Robert Whittaker and Jared Cannonier in the last two.
