Joe Judge said that based on his conversations with members of the Giants roster in 2019, there are players who have “gone out” in the past few days.

One of the players on that team said it was true.

“I can confirm that I’ve been here for a number of years,” Julian Love, a security guard, said on Wednesday after surviving a four-hour, weather-induced traffic jam.

And now, two years later, are you coming to the end of another defeated season?

“I think thankfully you don’t see it,” Love said. “You don’t see guys getting distracted. You see the guys pay attention to this game and give it their all. This is something to be proud of. You don’t just want to bend, so I think we’re discussing it. ”

Love was a new player in 2019 and appeared in 15 games as the Giants played 4-12 games to complete Pat Shurmur’s two-year career as head coach. The referee’s giants could be more than a gathering of friends and family at the MetLife Stadium in a game against Washington on Sunday 4-12.

Judge’s Giants are a five-game losing streak, with each game decided by 11 or more points. This is different from what happened two years after the end of the season, Love points out.

“It’s not in every guy, but when you travel to a vacation spot the next day and immediately leave the establishment and leave New Jersey, you see some guys’ one-offs, ”Love said.

This time, Love said he was in no hurry to leave the team behind.

“I think it’s partly because Joe wanted us to feel equal with the community,” Love said. “I was a young man and I would say if I closed everything in a few days, I would go home. I’m a little confused with Jersey this year because I don’t want to come to terms with the end of the season, the end of the team. I know I can confirm all the DBs and what we are doing. We plan to see each other soon after the end of the season and we just won’t go on a separate trip. “

Pat Shurmur, Jo Jugde and Julian Love.

Shurmur, now the Broncos ’attacking coordinator, disagreed with the referee’s assessment of how the giants struggled or did not compete at the end of the 2019 season.

“I’m sure it’s not an accurate assessment,” Shurmur told reporters in Acesparks. “But other than that, I have no explanation.”

Defender Leonard Williams arrived in mid-2019 to trade with the Jets. Williams said he was so preoccupied with switching teams, new defenses and learning new teammates that “I couldn’t understand everything around me in my environment”. He spends the seasons with the Jets and ends the season with the Giants for the third time without a chance to play in his first game after the season.

If anyone knows what it’s like to end the season with a losing team, this is Williams.

“I’ve been on teams before, or I’ve been around guys in general, especially older veterinarians, for example, who sometimes shake hands when things start to get difficult,” Williams said. We know very well that we won’t make it to the playoffs right now, and a lot of people think ‘We’re playing in vain right now’, and the guys still break up the fight after training and say, ‘We have another chance’. What I like about this team is that we see everything as an opportunity and we want to take advantage of every opportunity we get. ”

This is very familiar to Williams, but not so much to the judge. During his eight-year career in New England, the Patriots have always won first place in the AFC East. Getting to the playoffs was a winter ceremony for the referee. Even last season the Giants were 5-10, but in the final week of the season they were still alive to win the NFC East.

This weekend, the referee will be part of a team that missed the first time in its NFL coaching career before the start of the season finale.

“We’re always talking about playing every game, every game, every series, every game the same way, regardless of the situation or circumstances,” the referee said. “It’s no different,” he said. I am not hypocritical in front of the team. I talk about playing each situation the same with the same intensity, urgency, and movement, then turning around at the end and saying, “Well, it’s different”. We are only given 17 games a year, which is given to you. You will have 17 chances to get there. Every opportunity must be used effectively. That’s what I expect from the team, that’s what I expect from the coaches. “
