MSNBC reporter Joy Reed, host of The Reidout, criticized Florida Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis on Wednesday for his speech celebrating freedom in the red state as Democrats continue to take additional steps to stem the spread of COVID-19.

In his State of the Union address on Tuesday, DeSantis explained how Florida is becoming a haven for those seeking to escape “authoritarian, arbitrary and seemingly endless mandates and restrictions.” He called it a “saboteur” and called for policies based on “blind adherence” to the Faucian Declaration.

Reed accused DeSantis of experimenting with natural immunity in his state and of neglecting the health of Florida residents.

DESANTIS CAMIGN is selling “FLORIDA ESCAPE” T-shirts as some of the best Democrats gather in SUNSHINE State.

“DeSantis loves to talk about freedom, especially those that endanger the health of people in their state, who have been involved in a huge experiment on herd immunity for two years, whether they like it or not,” Reed said.

He went so far as to claim “more COVID” [cases] It has always been a goal for DeSantis.[A] a new report says 80 percent of Floridians could contract an omicron at that rate. That really means a lot of clients for the miraculous cure of Ron’s best donors, yes! ”

According to Reed, DeSantis ’opposition to critical racial theory, his support for abortion restrictions, and his ability to sue teachers over rents show that the Republican governor is running an“ authoritarian ”state.

“If you are not convinced that the Republican crackdown and the occupation of the country will seriously damage our democracy, don’t pay attention to Ron DeSantis’s Florida state. Some people call it DeSantistan.” [is] It’s an authoritarian harbinger of what will happen to all of us if Republicans take over the country. “
