NXT 2.0 made its debut in September last year and it promised a whole new look to the product. While this has led to a number of changes, not all of them have been welcomed. Johnny Gargano has an interesting idea about the latest iteration of NXT.
With a new look and paint, there was a new sense of direction that saw the new collection of WWE Superstars, especially the Bron Breakker. However, so far not many talents have been able to truly connect with the fans.
Many fans still miss the old black and gold version of NXT because they combine the best memories of that era of the brand. When talking to Comics, The heart of NXT Johnny Gargano admitted that the old version of NXT needed a blow.
It’s one of those things where I don’t think there were moments like, “Wow, now it’s different.” We knew the rebrand was coming, but like anything in the fight, it’s always going to change. Things are constantly evolving. We’ve talked before in this interview that if you do something in a certain way, things get boring and you sometimes have to update things.
Honestly, it needed a bit of a blow. I think they are very happy with the way things are going and you should be happy with how some of those kids have developed in front of your eyes. For example, as I mentioned Bron Breakker. Bron Breakker, the guy I always mention, you can pay people to learn how to fight, right?
You can pay people to do that, but you can’t pay them to love it sincerely, or you can’t pay people to want to be better than them. There is one thing: “Well, teach me to lock my wrist” and you pay me for it. And I’m learning to lock my wrist, and I’m just doing that. It’s another thing to sincerely want to be better. And if you find someone who has both of those qualities, they want to be good, and he gets better, that’s a diamond.
As previously reported, Johnny Gargano could also make his AEW debut in Cleveland on January 26th. Johnny Gargano also recently said he will work where fans call him to work. We have to wait and see what Johnny Gargano decides for himself.
