Even when Tom Brady was on the field, Robert Saleh felt good about the Jets ’condition.
They managed to hold the defense in the afternoon. They limited Brady and Co. to a field goal in the previous drive in the red zone. With only 20 seconds left, the bookmakers were still 33 yards from the last zone.
“We had a chance,” the Jets coach said. “We just had to fight them again and we would have looked at the last game to win.”
But the Jets could not resist them. Elijah Riley went the wrong way and played the game. Brady had another comeback with a full career with them, beating the Jets 28-24 at MetLife Stadium after hitting 33-yarder Cyril Grayson.
“Unfortunately, the last game, the touch, we have to be better in terms of lighting,” Saleh said. “They should not take explosives in such a situation. We’re basically in two shells and he was still able to catch the ball that was off. That’s not good. ”
It ruined the Jets ’brilliant move and their 32nd-placed goal defense. The unit included Brady and the Explosive Buccaneers. But when the Jets couldn’t change the fourth and 2nd depths with more than two minutes left in the Tampa Bay area, Brady had one last chance. Of course, he made the most of it, leading his 53rd return win of his career in the Hall of Fame and improving his 31-8 life against the Jets.
“Actually I have to do this game,” Riley said. “There’s not much to talk about,” he said. I have to play against a team like that in the last seconds. ”
Two weeks ago, Riley was initially seriously injured in the neck when he was sent off in Miami. The 23-year-old safety, taken from the Eagles ’training team by the Jets on Nov. 9, ended in a concussion, but only missed one game. On Sunday, he returned to the field and produced the ball for six shots and a defeat. But he failed to make the game that led to the Jets ’12th defeat of the year.
“It was close,” Riley said.
Just not close enough.
