‘Hacks’ production paused while star Jean Smart recovers from procedure

Recently, the production of the hit show Hacks was put on hold due to the health of one of its stars, Jean Smart. Smart, who plays the lead role of Deborah Vance, underwent a medical procedure and has since been recovering.

The show, which is a comedy series on HBO Max, follows Deborah, an aging Las Vegas comedian who teams up with a younger, more rebellious up-and-coming stand-up comic, Ava (Hannah Einbinder). The show has been praised for its sharp writing and strong performances, with Smart’s performance earning her an Emmy nomination.

The show’s production was put on pause while Smart recovers from her procedure. A statement from HBO Max said: “We are taking a pause in production on Hacks so that Jean Smart can recover from a medical procedure. We wish her a speedy recovery and look forward to having her back on set soon.”

The show is currently in its second season and has been renewed for a third season. No word yet on when production will resume, but fans of the show are hopeful that Smart will make a full recovery and be back on set soon.

In the meantime, fans can still enjoy the first season of Hacks, which is currently streaming on HBO Max. The show is an entertaining and thought-provoking look at the comedy world and the struggles of aging in it. Smart’s performance is a highlight, and her absence will be felt while she recovers.
