In recent years, celebrities have become increasingly vocal about their health and wellness habits. But one celebrity’s foray into the health and wellness space has been met with criticism from medical professionals.
Kourtney Kardashian recently announced the launch of her new product, Poosh Vaginal Health Gummies. The gummies are marketed as a way to “support vaginal health and regularity.”
However, medical experts have slammed Kardashian’s product, citing its lack of scientific evidence and potential health risks.
“The idea of taking health advice from a celebrity is concerning,” said Dr. Jennifer Gunter, an obstetrician-gynecologist and author of the book The Vagina Bible. “There is no scientific evidence that these gummies are beneficial for vaginal health, and in fact, they may be harmful.”
Dr. Gunter also warned that taking the gummies could interfere with other medications and supplements, and could even cause allergic reactions.
Other medical professionals have echoed Dr. Gunter’s concerns. Dr. Mary Jane Minkin, a clinical professor of obstetrics, gynecology and reproductive sciences at Yale University, said that while she’s not convinced the gummies are harmful, she believes they are unnecessary.
“There is no evidence that these gummies are necessary or beneficial for vaginal health,” she said. “The best way to maintain vaginal health is to practice good hygiene and to use a mild, unscented soap.”
Dr. Gunter also noted that it’s important to talk to a doctor before taking any supplements or medications.
“It’s always best to get advice from a medical professional before taking any kind of supplement,” she said. “There are many factors to consider, such as allergies, medications, and lifestyle, so it’s important to get personalized advice.”
Kardashian has yet to respond to the criticism of her product, but it’s clear that medical experts are not impressed. It’s important to remember that celebrities are not medical professionals, and it’s best to get health advice from a doctor or other medical professional.
