“I understand he doesn’t want to take that risk” – Dan Hooker Habib Nurmagomedov explains why George Saint-Pierre refused the super fight

Khabib Nurmagomedov recently refused a super fight against former UFC two-division champion George St-Perga. While this may be a hopeless notion for fight fans, UFC welterweight champion Dan Hooker may be sympathetic to Habib’s decision.

In a recent interview with James Lynch, Dan Hooker explained why he understands Khabib Nurmagomedov’s choice to retire.

Hooker praised Habib for retiring with a perfect record and also predicted that this would remain an exclusive record in MMA history.

According to The Hanging Man, it was great that Habib didn’t take the risk to avoid such a success. That’s not very good compared to his MMA record, Hooker told James Lynch:

“Oh, he’s a very fair man. That’s fair enough. I love what he’s done, walk undefeated, and create records like this. It’s something no one else has and probably no one else can do. So how many more do you have?” do you want to play russian roulette once, it’s easy for me because i’ve had a lot of losses, so it’s very easy to go back because you know the ups and downs, yes. It’s a great achievement to be like the only guy who’s ever been, to be a multiple world champion. It’s not going to be copied anymore, so I can clearly understand that he doesn’t want to take risks. “

Khabib Nurmagomedov confirmed that GSP has given up the super fight

Khabib Nurmagomedov said he was seriously interested in a “super” fight against another man who recently took part in a St-Pierre GOAT match.

However, for Habib, the offer is no longer helpful as he is very happy to be retired.

Khabib Nurmagomedov made no secret of the fact that he struggled inside the cage and believes that the GSP should be treated in the same way. Surprised by GSP’s interest in the fight, Khabib Nurmagomedov told MMA Junkie:

“He (manager Ali Abdelaziz) sent me a message and said,‘ Hey, George Saint-Pierre wants to fight you. I said, “What can I do?” I do not know. I’m done, you know? I think George is done too, you know? Let this guy become a legend. He’s 40 and I don’t understand why he has to fight. I think he has money too. I finished. I really finished. “
