Kathleen Chukagian secured another victory over Jennifer Maya in UFC Vegas 46, but while her first win over Maya brought her a championship shot, her second win could have ended her UFC career.
Chookagyan’s contract expired on Saturday night and he spoke at a post-fight press conference about his free agent status.
Speaking at a press conference after the UFC Vegas 46 fight, Chookagian said, “It was the last fight in my contract and if you have another fight, they will renegotiate your contract. Chookagian (17-4) has a 10-4 record in the octagon, all of his victories are decided, and two defeats were technical knockouts against champions Valentina Shevchenko and Jessica Andrade. His major victories (twice in addition to Maya) include Cynthia Calvillo, Vivian Araujo and Joan Wood.
Dana White also brought out Chookagian’s contract in the press.
