Kathleen Chukagian secured another victory over Jennifer Maya in UFC Vegas 46, but while her first win over Maya brought her a championship shot, her second win could have ended her UFC career.

Chookagyan’s contract expired on Saturday night and he spoke at a post-fight press conference about his free agent status.

Speaking at a press conference after the UFC Vegas 46 fight, Chookagian said, “It was the last fight in my contract and if you have another fight, they will renegotiate your contract. MMA fight). “So when they offered to fight, I said,‘ Oh, I’m ready to negotiate a new contract, ’and they said,‘ No, we want you to fight that. [contract] out. ‘

“It doesn’t mean they will cut me off, but it’s usually not good news. I hope they want to save me with this show. I want to stay here. I hope I proved it tonight. “

Chookagian (17-4) has a 10-4 record in the octagon, all of his victories are decided, and two defeats were technical knockouts against champions Valentina Shevchenko and Jessica Andrade. His major victories (twice in addition to Maya) include Cynthia Calvillo, Vivian Araujo and Joan Wood.

Dana White also brought out Chookagian’s contract in the press.

“I know we got into this fight under his contract, and now his term is over,” White said. “He is a free agent now. I do not know. It was between him and Mick [Maynard], treated uu thus. So we’ll see what happens. “

We’ll see if the UFC will sign the long-term contender again, or if his future will be elsewhere in less than six years.
