If 2021 seems like a difficult year for Cheyanne Vlismas’s personal life, 2022 isn’t a good start. When he changed his last name from Buys, whom he had married before his last fight, to his maiden name, Vlismas, it became clear for the first time that something was happening behind the scenes. Although Vlismas won the award in the fight against Mallori Martin on December 4, the vain speculations about a possible marriage on the rocks turned into a very popular drama a few weeks later.

Interviewed by MMA Fighting in Interview published on January 9th, Vlismas told the agency that he had been in hiding since beating Martin and did not know when he would fight again. And although he did not elaborate on why at the time, the interviewer gave a quick rebuttal claiming that JP Buys had an affair with Vlismas.

Vlismas soon responded and gave details of their divorce and current status, including a claim that the two were “married only for visas.” As expected, the more public display of their private lives did not make it easier to solve the problems. In a recent Instagram post, the “Warrior Princess” expressed her displeasure with the situation.

I wondered if I should write this post. I received hundreds of hatreds and death threats.

I kept quiet about our relationship and didn’t even say anything when I was asked a question and now I see my name being slandered on social media.

Our relationship has deteriorated not only recently, but for a long time.

People turned away from me at these times, especially someone who thought I really cared and would help me in these difficult times.

I can’t fight because I have to give up part of my paperwork and money.

I am far away because I feel emotionally empty and scared. Please understand this!

I don’t want to cause a problem, I just want to sign my documents and be left alone.

I never wanted my business to appear, but unfortunately it was made public. I’m sorry things got to that point. I just want to move on with my life. I have a lot to say but I am tired of all this. I don’t need sympathy, I just want peace. I don’t want to hit him or say bad things about him because I respect our past. I just want to live my life and no longer have to explain or talk about it. Please understand and give me time to solve all this myself.

Hopefully these two will close soon or at least find a healthier way to resolve their differences rather than fighting posts on social media.
