Former Playboy rabbit Jackie Nett is setting a record.

Nett was one of the first women of color to work at the Playboy club in the 1960s. But despite all the turmoil in the world around him, he said it was a safe place to work for the late Hugh Hefner, who spent 12 years wearing a white rabbit tail.

“I grew up under Playboy,” Nett said in an interview with Acesparks. “Hugh Hefner didn’t accept segregation, so I didn’t feel alone like a black rabbit. I felt accepted. “

“I am happy to work in this environment. It was very exciting, ”added Nett, who now works as a yoga teacher in Napa, California.

The aspiring actress left her southern home in California in 1962 – “I was an innocent girl with Mississippi mud between her toes,” she said. She was interviewed for a rabbit at the LA Playboy Club in 1967 and left the organization only after she got married in 1979. During the conversation, he was surprised that “Mother Rabbit” and Hefner really preferred to be healthy.

I remembered they looked at me and said, “You’re so thin.” So I thought I was getting fat. In two months I gained 10 pounds. I was still very thin, but eventually I was hired. I was determined, ”Nett said. you had to save. Their very volunteer ladies and some like me were very thin. “

During the audition, Nett weighed less than 100 pounds and “looked very much like the girl next door, but her legs were long.”

Nett also dispelled the misconception that rabbits are not respected in the workplace. He said the girls were “very protected” and the environment was “much more conservative than they seem.”

“No one could touch us and believe me, everyone wanted to touch the rabbit’s tail. I’ve seen the room director physically take people out. Even if you weren’t the room director, if you went to a bigger rabbit, they would protect you, ”he continued.

Nett explained: “The Playboy club was supposed to be fun and exciting, but it was also an illusion. You played by the rules. We didn’t bend over the tables. “We were dressed.”

“The Playboy club was supposed to be fun and exciting, but it was also an illusion. You played by the rules,” Nett said.

He recalled meeting Hefner, and he was “a very gentle man and always around.” Nett recalled going to his “movie nights” on Sundays, where there were “wonderful” buffet tables. However, he “never climbed to the top floor of the castle, which was his private home.”

He said that despite all the usefulness, Playboy’s behavior was still a lot.

“It happened in the steam room, in the game room, in the grotto, no matter what you thought could happen,” he said. “It’s all about sex,” he said. If you go to the grotto and see someone in the corner, you’ve either left or joined them – whatever you want. “

Decades after leaving the Playboy program, Nett is still grateful for his life as a rabbit.

“I value Playboy for the rest of my life. It gave me the ability to express myself today, ”he concluded. “It’s part of me and I’m not ashamed of it. I feel younger than my age. I practice yoga and part of it is genetics. But the attitude? It’s all Playboy. “
