Hugh Jackman redefined the concept of “cutting the stage” after accidentally cutting his nose with a hat while preparing for his role in the upcoming Broadway film The Musician Man. The Australian movie star revealed the accident that woke Oddjob in an Instagram video posted on Wednesday.
The noisy clip begins with 53-year-old Jackman, who plays Harold Hill in the revival of a popular musical and turns a boat hat while choreographing for the show.
“So people gave me a couple of comments, like,‘ Did you have a biopsy of your nose again? What happened to your nose? ” Said the two-time Tony Award winner, leaning against the camera before showing off his involuntary shnoz work. “Honestly, this thing looks like a gun, and it hit me in the face and cut my nose.”
Jackman continued, “So The Musician could turn into that James Bond movie. What kind of character was that? Strange thing? Yeah, someone give me a little meme about Oddjob.”
The Prestige star also posted a headline warning theatergoers “sitting in the first 5 or 6 rows” to “find a flying boat”.
While Jackman’s injury was seemingly harmless, it left the audience worried that they were asking the playwright to take better care of his beautiful mug.
“Practice makes perfect, Hugh!” Said one of the anxious fans. “But please take care of your angel’s face!”
Another wrote, “I’ll be ready to catch him, but be careful. Your face is precious. ”
“They really damaged Wolverine’s healing powers to RIP,” joked social media comedian Jackman, referring to the re-imagined superhero character in the X-Men series.
The revival of “The Man of Music” opens on December 20 at the Winter Garden Theater. The play is Jackman’s first appearance on Broadway since starring in the 2014 film River.
