TJ Dillashaw believes that Conor McGregor’s attempt to justify his defeat at UFC 264 with an “excuse” makes it difficult for him to support the Irishman.
The 35-year-old now wants to defend his former two-division title after being hit at the bottom of a rock, but can’t find enough reasons to do so.
After losing a trilogy fight against Dustin Poirier, McGregor said he stepped into the octagon with a stress fracture in his leg. Notorious was very confident in his leg kicks during the stand-up exchange with Poirier. In the final seconds of the first round, McGregor broke his leg terribly and ended the fight between the two rounds.
While talking to Brendan Schaub during the Food Truck Diaries episode, TJ asked Dillashaw if McGregor was considering a successful return. The 35-year-old woman replied:
“I don’t know, man. He is now (Conor McGregor) digging himself into the pit. He takes out these videos, makes excuses, pretends to be a fool. I want to support the guy now because he is at the lowest level. I didn’t want to support him when he was on top. I want to support him now because he has the lowest score and what he has done for the sport. But he’s making it harder. He looks like a *** le. ”
TJ Dillashaw said McGregor’s reputation could be hit if he continues to “apologize” to Poirier after his second defeat.
The two-time former champion added that even if McGregor had stressful cracks leading up to UFC 264, it wasn’t the ideal time for him to give that revelation.
TJ Dillashaw will face Cory Sandhagen at UFC Vegas 32
TJ Dillashaw will return to the octagon more than two years later after a bout against Corey Sandhagen at UFC Vegas 32.
He last fought for the flying title with Henry Sejudo, but came shortly after to overthrow the ‘Triple C’. Dillashaw then tested positive for erythropoietin (EPO), which led to a two-year suspension.
Dillashaw is not currently divided into two weight categories. However, the win over Sandhagen puts him directly in the title picture.
Meanwhile, Sandman has two big wins over Marlon Moraes and Frankie Edgar. If the 29-year-old manages to break the back of TJ Dillashav, it is clear that he will win the championship kick against Aljamin Sterling and Petr Yan 2 winners.
