Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis will attend a security briefing this weekend with Texas Gov. Greg Abbott across the southern border.
Meeting, was announced in a press release From Abbott’s office, Saturday at 2:15 p.m., in Del Rio, Texas, state and local officials will report a steady increase in illegal immigrants in the state.

The meeting is expected to be attended by Texas Attorney General Ken Hton, Texas Dertment Public Safety Director Steve McCraw, Texas Emergency Management Chief Nim Kidd and a number of other officials.
DeSantis, who supports stricter immigration laws, announced last month he had to send law enforcement officers from his state to the Texas border with Mexico to assist in Abbott’s efforts.
At the time, the Florida governor did not have a clear idea of who would fund the process.
“Usually, if someone helps us, you know, we fund some of them, and that’s what we hope,” DeSantis said. “But we don’t expect any federal funding.”
The situation at the southern border continues to deteriorate, as highlighted by border troll numbers released on Friday, which show more than 188,000 illegal immigrants were encountered in June. That number is about 8,000 more than in May and brings the total number of meetings one million so far in this fiscal year.
