LAS VEGAS – Entertainment Flavor Flav, on the outskirts of Las Vegas, is battling a home battery charge caused by an altercation with his girlfriend at home, his attorneys said Tuesday.

The 62-year-old former rapper, hip-hop and reality TV star, whose legal name is William Jonathan Drayton, was arrested on October 4 after he reported Henderson police riots at home. the city’s Green Valley neighborhood, police said.

Henderson was charged Tuesday with grabbing the woman by the face or grabbing a phone from her hand, according to a criminal complaint filed with the city court.

Records show that Drayton was released on $ 5 bail on Oct. 5 with a court date of Oct. 25.

The alleged victim was identified in court and police documents as a person who had an affair with Drayton and had a minor child. His name was changed.

According to police, their son told police he came to stop the fight when his parents divorced and his mother was sitting facing Dryton. Officers reported that the woman had a small incision on the side of her face “in accordance with the incident.”

Henderson Police spokeswoman Officer Katrina Farrell said she had no information on whether the victim needed medical attention.

Drayton’s attorneys, David Chesnoff and Richard Schonfeld, said in a statement: “In cases of domestic violence, there are usually two sides to the story and we will explain our side in the courtroom.” The arrest was first reported by the popular TMZ website.

The October 2012 incident led to his arrest on several serious charges after he was accused of holding a knife while harassing and threatening his then-son-in-law’s 17-year-old son at his home in Las Vegas. obtained.

The case was closed in 2014, after Drighton pleaded guilty to reducing the charge of attempting to use a battery after completing a probationary period and completing a counseling course on domestic violence.
