Following the blocking of protests on social media, Facebook has restored access to an advertising account associated with the publication of the conservative children’s book Heroes of Liberty.

The Heroes of Liberty, which published biographies of individuals such as Supreme Court Justice Amy Connie Barrett and former President Ronald Reagan, said the account was said to have been blocked for violating Facebook’s “Low Quality or Violent Content” policy.

The publisher asked Facebook to reconsider, but was refused.

Facebook’s parent company Meta said on Tuesday it had changed direction under a ban announced by Fox Business for the first time.

Meta spokeswoman Andy Stone said the account was blocked due to an “error” but did not provide details.

“It shouldn’t have happened. It was a mistake and the ad account was restored, ”Stone wrote on Twitter.

Facebook representatives did not immediately respond to The Post’s request for additional comment.

Liberty Heroes editor Bethany Mandel confirmed that the advertising account had been restored, but said she did not immediately notify Facebook that the publication had been canceled.

Heroes of Liberty has published biographies of people like former President Ronald Reagan.

“Update: Facebook has informed several people and several members of Congress that we have been reinstated,” Mandel said. “They never told us,” he said. But for now, our account seems to have been restored. We want to make sure that this is a mistake and that we can easily invest there.

Stone wrote on Twitter:look insideIt was not immediately clear why the publishing house was reopened.

Freedom Heroes was first notified of the account blocking on Dec. 23, Mandel told Fox Business. The publisher was initially told that the account had been blocked because it “did not comply with our policy on low quality or degrading content.”

The publisher tried to appeal the decision, only to find out that the account was completely blocked. Facebook’s policy states that ads “should not contain content that leads to external landing pages that provide an unexpected or disruptive experience.”

Conservative politicians have accused Facebook of being biased against conservatives.

“You can no longer advertise with this ad account and its ads and assets will be deleted. This is our final decision, ”he told Facebook.

Mandel, editor of the conservative Ricochet platform, detailed the publisher’s relationship with Facebook for The Post. He called the decision to block the account a “financial failure” for the publisher.

He said the ban was triggered by users who reported Facebook ads about the account due to political disagreements.

“Apparently, according to our Big Tech culture pillars, a descriptive biography celebrating President Reagan’s achievements is no longer allowed,” Mandel wrote. They told us that our content was “disruptive” and blocked our advertising accounts, data banks, and digital assets.

“They flooded our investment with a similar short e-mail. We appealed and were informed that the decision was final and permanent,” he added.

Conservative politicians and experts have long accused Facebook of being biased against right-wing views. Facebook has denied the allegations.

Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) was among those who violated the ban on the social media platform’s Heroes of Freedom account.

“While the Conservatives have launched independent publishers and platforms, #BigTech companies like Facebook are now trying to eliminate them. This latest example is particularly outrageous, ”Cruz wrote on Twitter.
