Ex WWE Star Expected As Bryan Danielson’s Mystery Choice For Zack Saber Jr’s ‘Forbidden Door’ Opponent

Bryan Danielson made a disappointing announcement on last night’s episode of AEW Dynamite. Danielson informed fans that he is not medically cleared to wrestle at Forbidden Door or Blood and Guts the following Wednesday. Bryan did promise a surprise replacement to take his place for both shows.

Zack Saber Jr. will face a mystery opponent selected by Bryan Danielson. The American Dragon promised fans an excellent technical wrestling match. Fans immediately began to speculate on whom the mystery opponent might be.

Danielson was not interested in telling the fans who Zack Saber Jr. will face. On the latest Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer talked about who it might be. He believes only one potential wrestler makes sense.

“I think the betting line guy is Claudio Castagnoli. I don’t know that as a fact. I mean, the way Bryan Danielson talked sounded to me like the way he talks about Claudio. So, Claudio’s in AEW, I guess, if it is him. There’s possibilities it’s somebody else, but I can’t think of anyone else that would be in that spot that’s available right now where people wouldn’t crap on it, and you know Tony Khan doesn’t want people to crap on his mystery guys . It’s just one of those unfortunate things that, you know, he’s out. “

Cesaro left WWE when his contract expired in February. Since then, the Swiss Superman has been lying low. Bryan Danielson said he would deliver a technical wrestling masterpiece at Forbidden Door. With only a handful of options available, Cesaro seems to fit the bill.

Fans will have to tune in Sunday night to Forbidden Door to find out for sure. Cesaro would be a huge get for Tony Khan. The Blackpool Combat Club would love to add him to their ranks.
