By Tommy Gray: WBA Interim Super Featherweight Champion Chris Colbert says Errol ‘The Truth’ Spence Jr. is a “flat-footed” fighter and that Manny Pacquiao will defeat him when they meet on August 21.

Colbert believes the arm speed and superior mobility of 42-year-old former eight division world champion Pacquiao will be too much for Spence (27-0, 21 KO) to tackle.

Many boxing fans believe the fight would have a different outcome from Colbert’s point of view. They think Spence’s youth, size and strength would be too much for a 5’5 1/2-inch Pacquiao.

To give Manny a chance to win, he has to keep moving forward and pray that Spence doesn’t use his long jab as he did against Mickey Garcia in 2019.

We really don’t know what we’re going to see from Pacquiao because he’s been out of the ring for two years since defeating Keith Thurman in 2019, and he almost lost that fight.

Colbert says that Spence is too flat

“Everyone is underestimating my boy, Pacquiao. I think I got Pacquiao,” Super Featherweight Chris Colbert told FightHip to pick Manny to defeat Errol Spence Jr.

“Pacquiao is going to be so light. Errol Spence is flat-footed, that’s his problem. You can’t be flat-footed with Pacquiao.

He’s going to march on all of that** and stay here. And that’s like a jumping bean. He’s throwing that s*** fast as hell.

“I know he [Spence] A bad boy, but I’m going with Pacquiao. I keep going up against Spence and keep getting paid for it

If Colbert is correct about his prediction, he is being seen as a genius by boxing fans as few people are with the Filipino star.

Spence has the power and fighting style that can lead to early defeat in this fight if he applies too much pressure too soon.

“I think he can stop Pacquiao with a body shot,” Danny Garcia said. “But I think Pacquiao can stop that too.

“I think it’s a 50-50 fight. I don’t think it is going away. Pacquiao is a dangerous Pacquiao if he shows up against Keith Thurman,” said Danny.

Pacquiao fighting Thurman still may not have enough size or offense to counter the firepower that Spence will be going for him in this fight.

Pacquiao could end up in a chaotic comeback if Spence keeps it to himself from the start of the fight. This is a completely different type of fighter that Manny will face in comparison to what he has fought in the past.
