Cleveland – Five-time Star Savior Doug Jones, who had the best success for the Cleveland Indians, has died. He was 64 years old.

Jones spent seven seasons with the Indians and finished third on the club’s career record list with 129. The club, which officially moved to the Cleveland Guard last week, said on Monday it was “saddened by the loss of one of the greatest men of all time in our organization. ”

The team said Jones died in Arizona. The reason was not immediately clear.

One of Jones ’former Indian teammates, pitcher Greg Swindell, wrote on Twitter that his friend had died. Swindell called Jones a “pitcher of hell.”

Known as “Jonesy,” Jones has played for teams in Cleveland, Houston, Philadelphia, Baltimore, Chicago Cubs, Milwaukee and Auckland for 16 seasons. He played twice with the Indians, the first in 1986-91 and again in 1998.

Jones went 69-79 with 3.30 ERA in 846 major league games. He retired with the Athletics after the 2000 season.

Born in Covina, California, Jones was drafted in 1978 by the Brewers.
