Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis has reacted to reports in the media that he has asked former President Donald Trump to cancel a planned Florida rally as search and rescue operations continue in Surfside.

“Authorities have never and never had a‘ request ’from DeSantis or anyone on his team to cancel or postpone the rally,” Christina Pushav, the governor’s spokeswoman, told Acesparks. “This confusion could have been easily remedied – and I’m sure, with our clear statements in the records.”

Pushav said the governor’s office was not given enough time to respond to the claim, which led to a “wrong title.”

Washington Examiner published an article On Wednesday, DeSantis and Trump were “hostile” over Trump’s July 4 rally: The report said DeSantis “asked” Trump to postpone the event in Sarasota.

“The Washington Examiner reporter who wrote this ignored me until the deadline, and he did not receive any comment from the governor’s political group at all before the publication,” Pushav continued.

SURFSIDE CONDO MANAGER THANKS REIR FORGIVENESS NO DAYS FROM APPLICATION: “THIS WILL CATCH US”

The proximity of the rally to the catastrophic rtial collapse of the Champlain Towers condom tower in Surfside has angered some.

POLITICAL CARICATURE OF THE DAY: BUILD AND CHAIN

The governor’s office said DeSantis would have joined the rally under normal circumstances, but his task was to “be in Surfay to make sure families and the community have what they need as a result of the collapse of this tragic building.”

The death toll at Surfside rose to 24 on Saturday morning, and the number of missing people dropped from 145 to 126 after officials deleted the repeated names and some residents arrived at safety.
