Democratic Texas lawmakers attended a special session of the legislature, but when they left their jobs to prevent the repeal of the Voting Reform Act, they still feel like they were there.
State representatives collect $ 221 per day not only for jobs, but also for days when the legislature meets. A spokesman for Gov. Greg Abbott told Acesparks that Democrats who flew out to Washington to protest the voting bill are still receiving the same amount of money that day.

Democrat James Talarico tweeted on Monday about the “sacrifice” of himself and his colleagues, saying “we left our families, our livelihood,” and Texas itself. U.S. Rep. Dan Cranshu, of Texas, Talarico, and other Democrats were “deceived” by what they thought.
“It’s hard to imagine people being more imaginative – lying about bills, jumping on a charter flight, drinking beer and being fired are“ sacrifices, ”Crenshu wrote. “You are triggered. You are completely triggered.”
