Five years after her death, Debbie Reynolds ’former home in Los Angeles was registered for $ 2.1 million.
The three-bedroom, three-bathroom Valley Village home of the late “Singing’ in the Rain ”actress features more than 2,000 square feet of oak flooring, French doors and wooden ceilings.
“The architecture incorporates what I liked about the Los Angeles architecture of the time. Style, character and craftsmanship. This house has a very European look with aspects of Tudor real estate and an English garden summer house. it fits all the necessary records, ”said broker Greg Holcomb Douglas Elliman and Pasadena.
The most distinctive feature of the property is the “high tower” in the bedroom. According to Holcomb, vintage stained glass creates a unique space that Reynolds used as a salon.
“I think my favorite part of the house is the high round enclave in the main room of the bedroom. I was told that here Debbie kept the piano and used the room as a lounge for friends to entertain,” Holcom told The Post.
Built in 1929, the house has been renovated with a modern kitchen and bathroom, retaining the English garden style.
“The house has its own unique architecture, Hollywood history and very beautiful aesthetics,” Holcomb said.
The 0.2 hectare area has mature pine trees, a brick courtyard, a boar, a saltwater pool, a bocce court and a lemon grove. Private gardens have white roses and lavender.
“What I like about this property is that it has the features of a large house, but is more comfortable to live in,” Holcomb said.
In 1987, Reynolds bought the house for $ 220,000. “Orange is the new black” actress Amanda Fuller and her husband Matthew Bryan bought the house for $ 1.84 million after the death of Feld Reynolds.
Reynolds did not live at home for 15 years before his death, but instead lived in a $ 18 million home with Star Wars actress Kerry Fisher, who died of a heart attack on a plane. Fuller and Bryan repaired the house while they were there.
Reynolds died of a stroke in 2016, a day after his daughter died. She also had a son, Todd Fisher, from her ex-husband, Eddie Fisher.
Reynolds’ grandson, Billy Lourd, recently spoke in an HBO documentary about the “brutal” loss of his mother and grandmother, described together after his death.
In later years, Reynolds became known for his roles in the 1973 film Charlotte Network, the 1998 film Kiki Delivery Service and Halloween, and the NBC comedy Will and Grace.
When he died, his estate sold other valuables, including paintings by Norman Rockwell and other memorabilia. Her dance studio was turned into a museum, and her childhood home was sold in 2017 for $ 749,000.
