2022 will be the year of John Jones ’heavyweight debut. Nothing is complete, but the Bones are expecting it to happen in the “second quarter.”

In the heaviest weight category, Jones won the competition and became a multi-year champion for nine years. While the world has yet to see him compete in his new weight class, Daniel Kormier says his 34-year-old opponent may not be as successful.

DC shared his predictions for 2022 with Ryan Clark on his weekly ESPN show, where he talked about Jones ’potential future in the heavyweight division and more.

“I believe John Jones will fight in the heavyweight division and he will fight for the belt. But he will lose, ”Kormier said. “Cyril Gane or Francis Ngannouga. And I think the difference in weight over time and who those guys are is a problem.

“It simply came to our notice then. It’s just that these guys are in the heavyweight division. ”

Jones last fought Dominic Reyes in UFC 247 in March 2020. He won the battle by a hotly contested unanimous decision and released his 205-pound belt five months later.
